Heaven Hill Master Distillers Unity Bourbon

We finally got our hands on the newly released Heaven Hill Master Distillers Unity, and wow, this one is special.

At 107 proof and priced at $225, Unity brings together decades of Heaven Hill history, and we couldn’t wait to open it up and share our honest thoughts with you.

First Impressions

Dara: “I think it smells creamy. There’s a dusty nut note—like pecans or almonds—and even a touch of strawberry. It actually reminds me of that strawberry almond cereal.”

Bill: “I get that creamy vanilla balance on the nose. It’s not overly oaky, not too hot, just… really inviting.”

At 107 proof, it hit our sweet spot. Balanced, approachable, and not overwhelming.

The Taste Test

On the palate, this bourbon is delicate but flavorful. We picked up:

  • Creamy berry notes (strawberry, cherry)
  • Sweet vanilla cream
  • Light oak and spice
  • A touch of nutty richness

Bill: “This is crushable, but not in a bad way. It’s balanced, sweet, a little spicy, with that creamy fruitiness. Honestly, I could drink this all the time.”

Is It Worth $225?

Here’s where it gets tricky. We loved the bottle—no doubt about it. But is it worth the price?

“For one bottle, $225 is a fair price point. It’s damn delicious. But would I buy a second at that price? No.”

If Heaven Hill could recreate a similar blend with the 14, 8, and 6-year bourbons (without the ultra-rare 34-year component), we think this would sit better around $150 retail.

“At this proof point, this is something you can actually drink. It doesn’t burn. It doesn’t light your soul on fire. It’s just really good.”

Final Thoughts

We scored the Heaven Hill Unity an 8.8/10. It’s balanced, creamy, fruity, and special. More importantly, it feels like a piece of bourbon history—a chance to taste the work of Parker Beam and other legendary distillers in one bottle.

Bill: “It actually surprised me. I didn’t think we’d ever get to try this bottle, let alone own one. That alone makes it worth it.”

If you can find the Unity at retail, we’d recommend grabbing it. At secondary prices, it’s harder to justify—but either way, this is one of those rare pours that reminds you why we all fell in love with bourbon in the first place.

Final Score: 8.8/10 – Buy it!
